This is the story of Matthew the tax collector. Up until this point, he had been a normal guy, with a fairly normal job.

But all that would change when he met JESUS, the Maker of the Universe — and a Carpenter from Nazareth. 

From then on out, Matthew would be counted as one of the twelve disciples closest to Jesus. 

He experienced the miracles, saw the crucifixion, and witnessed the Messiah’s ascension into Heaven. 

Matthew used his skills, talents and passion to serve the Lord and build the Kingdom. 

Now his name bears witness to the first of the four New Testament Gospels. 

Matthew had the opportunity to be on the frontlines of changing the world.

When the Son of God began his public ministry, he recruited his core leadership team from the marketplace.

Like Matthew, these were normal, working-class guys — tax collectors and fishermen.  

But as they began to serve Jesus, they saw him turn the normal into the miraculous. 

And in the book of Acts, as the early Church began to spread, it was still being lead by businessmen and women moving in cooperation with the Holy Spirit. 

Think about it: Paul was a tentmaker, Luke a doctor, and Lydia a "dealer in purple linen."

Did you know that 39 out of 40 recorded miracles in the book of Acts happened in the marketplace?

Your work is not separate from your worship. As a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, your work is worship. 

Look, I’ve served in multiple fulltime ministry and business roles. 

I was part of a church planting leadership team for a few years. After that, I was a domestic missionary and raised financial support. Then I became a pastor with a megachurch. 

I’ve studied at two different seminaries, have consulted with multiple denominations, and have been published in several church magazines. 

I’ve even spoken at a handful of national ministry conferences. And I still work with church planters on occasion.

But I’ve also done B2B sales and was the Vice President of a national, financial brokerage firm. And I have an MBA certificate from a leading business school. 

I’ve seen God show up and do amazing things in each of those environments. And I love supporting the local and global Church. 

But it’s my conviction, that the next wave of…

I believe God will use the marketplace as the primary venue for releasing his power in the 21st Century.

Yes, there is still value in meeting regularly with a community of believers… 

And yes, there is still a need for fulltime pastors and missionaries… 

But the marketplace has always been strategic and significant for the expansion of the Gospel. 

That’s why I believe so much in the power of being a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur.

With Purpose!

Even if we haven’t officially met, as a member of the Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur family, I believe I already know two things about you:  

1. You want to help people with your product or service, in an ethical and God-honoring way.  

And.. 

2. You want to make a good living while doing it.  

After all, isn’t that what all business owners want to do? Solve other people’s problems at a profit?  

When you look at it like that, business becomes the exchange of one form of value for another. 

But as a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, you don’t do business the world’s way. 

You’re not in to ripping people off, “get rich quick” scams, or simply making more money for money’s sake. 

You operate your business with Integrity. Honesty. Respect. 

And you are not ashamed of your FAITH.  

You lead your business in partnership with God. 

Others may call you “bold” or think that you’re just a little “out there”. Perhaps maybe even “too spiritual”.

But I know you aren’t trying to “push your religion” on your customers. 

You’re probably not beating people over the head with a Bible. And you’re not judgmental or condemning.  

You don’t want to offend anyone with your beliefs. But you do hope they see Jesus in you.  

So if you have been given big dreams from God — visions he has put inside you...

Then I want to encourage you to…

Keep Dreaming  BIG!  

Because you can make a difference in the world and make a good living while doing so. 

When you do business God's way, you will know that your life mattered. 

By serving others with integrity, you can be a part of building the Kingdom. “Preaching the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, using words.”

That way when you get to Heaven, you can look into your Father’s eyes and hear him say…

“Well Done You Good and 
 Faithful Servant…” 

As a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, when you operate your business with this kind of Gospel intentionality you will:
